Strike out poverty with 17th Annual OLHSA South Bowl-a-thon, May 1

The Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency (OLHSA), a Community Action Agency, is seeking bowlers and sponsors to help strike out poverty at the 17th annual OLHSA South Bowl-a-thon. To meet the unprecedented need in the community, OLHSA South is striving to make this year's Bowl-a-thon more successful than ever before. The event will take place Sunday, May 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Luxury Lanes in Ferndale, 600 E. 9 Mile Road.
All funds raised from the event will benefit the services and programs that OLHSA South provides to seniors, low-income residents, and persons with disabilities in South Oakland County. OLHSA is challenging all bowlers to raise $60 per person and encouraging that teams of four be formed. This fun filled afternoon will include a silent auction, prize giveaways, and lunch provided to all participants. Donated items are still needed for the prizes and silent auction.
"I encourage the entire community to join us for a great time and support our fight against poverty in South Oakland County," said Ronald B. Borngesser, OLHSA CEO. "More of our neighbors are in need than ever before, and every dollar raised will make a difference."
Bowl-a-thon sponsorship levels range from $100 as a "Lane Sponsor," to $1,000 as a "Strike Maker Sponsor." Sponsors will be recognized abundantly and appropriately according to level. Donations valued at $25 or more for prize giveaways and silent auction items are also needed.
Participants and sponsors must register by Wednesday, April 20. For registration and pledge forms, visit www.olhsa.org or contact Lindsey Walenga at lindseyw@olhsa.org.
