Detroit-based employment law firm Nemeth Burwell PC is pleased to announce that the firm's new website, www.nemethburwell.com, has been honored with a prestigious international "Webby" award in the legal website category for its usability, functionality and overall visual appeal. More than 8,000 entries were submitted to the 14th Annual Webby Awards, the majority of which are website nominations, and fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree.
This is the second major award bestowed on Nemeth Burwell's website. In late 2010, the website was awarded top honors in the Interactive Media Awardsª competition, offered by the Interactive Media Council, Inc., which recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development and honors individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievement.
The new website was launched in September 2010 to reflect Nemeth Burwell's growth and showcase the firm's depth and breadth of expertise in management-side employment and labor law, as well as its geographic reach.
The new website meets several goals and objectives:
* As a Michigan-based firm with nationally and internationally-based clients, Nemeth Burwell needed the website to reflect the firm's position as a go-to firm in labor and employment for private and public sector entities of all sizes, regardless of location. The employment news ticker tape on the home page reinforces this message, as does the comprehensive list of representative industries served.
* The website reflects that Nemeth Burwell, with its sole labor and employment focus, is actually larger than many employment and labor practices within big corporate law firms, where attorneys may not focus exclusively on labor and employment like Nemeth Burwell attorneys do.
* The expansive photos on the website remind visitors that the firm is situated next to the Detroit River in Detroit, which has a reputation for landmark labor and employment law cases, given its union history. At the same time, the photos represent the firm's love of--and loyalty to--the city, with it striking architecture, beloved sports locales and re-emerging waterfront, rather than the gritty urban decay often wrongfully attributed to Detroit.
Patricia Nemeth, the firm's president, is very pleased with the Webby acknowledgment.
"We put a great deal of thought and energy into revising our website," says Nemeth. "The new Nemeth Burwell website captures the image we want to communicate to our public: a user-friendly synergy of knowledge and expertise designed to take on challenges and resolve issues. To receive two website awards, and continued accolades from clients and website visitors, affirms that we accomplished our mission."
The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Established in 1996 during the Web's infancy, the Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes an Executive 750-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, and Associate Members who are former Webby Award Winners and Nominees and other Internet professionals.
