Judge wants update on Detroit corruption case

DETROIT (AP) -- A federal judge in Detroit wants an update from lawyers in the corruption case involving former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, his father and others.
Kilpatrick has waived his appearance Wednesday. He was recently moved to a state prison where he's serving a sentence for violating probation in an unrelated case.
Former Kilpatrick aide Derrick Miller and former Detroit water boss Victor Mercado have also waived their appearances in Judge Nancy Edmunds' courtroom.
