A high school junior or senior may not expect to visit a law school during their spring break, but approximately 45 International Academy students, History and Government teacher Jeff DeMoss, and three chaperones arrived at the Auburn Hills campus of Cooley Law School on Wednesday, April 6.
All were welcomed as Dean John Nussbaumer (pictured front row in sportcoat) shared information about the law school experience, and the important role lawyers and law students play in support of their communities and the indigent.
The high school students were given a tour of the library, classrooms, appellate court room and trial courtroom.
Professor Alan Gershel followed with a 45 minute mock class in Criminal Law, engaging the students almost in the same manner as a regular Criminal Law class.
