Law Day breakfast is set for May 4

The Jackson County Bar Association, Comerica Bank, and NALS of Jackson County is co-sponsoring this year's Law Day celebration and breakfast.
The event will be held on Wednesday, May 4, at the Country Club of Jackson, 3135 Horton Road, beginning with a buffet breakfast at 7:30 a.m.
The program will begin at 8 a.m.
Guest speaker is Bill Ballenger, Inside Michigan Politics, "a recognized authority on Michigan government and politics who appears as a commentator and political analyst for many Michigan radio and television stations," an event spokesperson said.
In addition, the JCBA will presents its "Liberty Bell Award" that recognizes outstanding service performed by a non-lawyer citizen "who has given of his or her time and energy to strengthen the effectiveness of the American system of freedom under law, in keeping with the spirit of our Constitution," the State Bar of Michigan has said.
Reservations must be received by Friday April 29 by calling Mary Sue Thome, 787-4472.
