May 16 event to benefit RESTORE Foundation
The RESTORE Connection 2011, a fund-raising event for the Oakland County Drug Treatment Courts, will take place Monday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Moose Preserve Bar & Grill, 43034 N. Woodward in Bloomfield Hills.
The RESTORE Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was created in the fall of 2008 with the mission of "restoring hope and dignity by helping individuals overcome substance abuse to the benefit of themselves, their families, and society by sustaining the Oakland County Drug Courts," according to Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Wendy Potts, president of the Board of Directors.
At the event, The Oakland County Legal News will be honored for its continued coverage and support of the drug court programs and The RESTORE Foundation.
The May 16 event will offer the opportunity to learn more about RESTORE, its successful program, the Joshua Charles Short Scholarship Fund, and the 2001-12 mission. The informal evening will include food underwritten by Talmer Bank and Trust, and a cash bar.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. All proceeds will benefit The RESTORE Foundation or the Joshua Charles Short Scholarship Fund. Checks can be mailed to RESTORE at 5413 Pleasant Lake Drive, West Bloomfield, 48322.
