County conducts Spring Auction this Saturday

Oakland County will conduct its annual Spring Auction on Saturday, May 14. Items up for bid include automobiles, computers and electronics, office items and tools confiscated during criminal investigations or previously owned by county government. The auction will be held at Oakland County's Vehicle Operations Building, 1200 North Telegraph, Building 16 East, in Pontiac.
"This is a great opportunity for the public to find some good deals," said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.
Among the vehicles up for auction are a black all wheel drive 2005 Range Rover; a black 2002 Daewoo soft tail motorcycle; a white 2001 Cadillac Deville; and about four dozen other American cars from Ford, Chrysler and General Motors.
Other items on which the public can also bid include a Generac generator, a Cushman Truckster, a Tappan electric stove and oven, an Ultra air compressor, and a deer stand. Plus, there is a variety of computer and electronic equipment from companies such as Apple, Blackberry, Sony and Dell, among others.
"The Oakland County Auction really has something for everyone," said Todd Birkle, manager of Support Services.
The public preview of the auction items will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14. The general auction then gets under way at 9:30 a.m. and the vehicle auction begins at 11 a.m. Those who wish to preview the vehicles up for auction may preview them from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 13.
