General Motors among those granted tax incentives

LANSING (AP) -- General Motors is getting a $10 million state brownfield tax credit to support the potential redevelopment and expansion of a building at its Warren technology center.
The Michigan Economic Growth Authority approved the credit Tuesday.
The proposed GM project would house a consolidated data center. Roughly 25 new jobs could be created through the $130 million project.
The state- approved other credits Tuesday including incentives for wind turbine manufacturer Kenersys America LLC. The company plans a headquarters in Troy and a manufacturing site to be determined by 2013.
Other companies awarded credits include Summit Health Inc. for a project in Novi and Tianhai Electric North America Inc. for a project in Oakland County's Orion Township.
