Christine M. Logan, vice president of James E. Logan & Associates, Ltd., has been elected to the Board of Directors of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA), the organization announced this week. Logan's three-year term begins immediately and ends in 2014.
The National Structured Settlements Trade Association (www.nssta.com) has a membership comprised of licensed structured settlement professionals, insurance companies and other members involved in establishing structured settlements to resolve personal injury and workers' compensation claims. Recognized by Congress since 1982, structured settlements provide long-term financial security to injury victims and their families through a stream of tax-free income tailored to their needs.
"Christine Logan brings to NSSTA's Board of Directors the perfect combination of experience, leadership, integrity and commitment to service that our industry demands of its representatives. She will make an outstanding director and I am honored for the privilege of serving with her. Her peers chose wisely," said Dan Finn, president of NSSTA.
Logan, a resident of Oakland County, has 23 years of experience in the personal injury claims industry. Ten were spent as a structured settlement consultant with Kenneth H. Wells & Associates, Inc., a national leader in the structured settlement industry. In 1998, she joined James E. Logan & Associates, Ltd. and currently serves as vice president and a member of the Board of Directors.

Ms. Logan is at the forefront of the next generation of structured settlement leaders and with her experience and keen marketing savvy, she'll be a dynamic addition to the Board of Directors," said Eric Vaughn, executive director of the NSSTA.
Logan recently was appointed chair of the NSSTA PAC Board of Directors, which is actively engaged in educating members of Congress about the benefits of structured settlements. In addition, she has served on NSSTA's Education Committee since 2006 and is a past co-chair of the NSSTA's Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) curriculum program at the University of Notre Dame.
"It's an honor to have been selected by my peers to serve on the NSSTA Board," said Logan. "We have difficult challenges and opportunities confronting us including continued economic uncertainty, Medicare-related issues, and a relatively new Congress. Thirty-five percent of members of Congress have served only five years or less on Capitol Hill. Education regarding the benefits of structured settlements is vital."
Logan is a graduate of the Leadership Oakland Cornerstone Program, which has brought together leaders from corporate, civic and nonprofit organizations throughout the region who delve into the issues confronting business leaders--from education, government and the justice system, to health and human services and race and ethnic diversity.
She also is an advocate of Lighthouse PATH, an organization committed to providing homeless women and children a safe, nurturing environment in which to live while they are provided time and the necessary training to make the triumphant transformation from poverty to self-sufficiency. Logan is a board member of the West Bloomfield Educational Foundation and serves on its Executive Committee. She is a leader in Girl Scouts of Southeast Michigan and serves as a committee member for Boy Scouts of America.
