Chevrolet to be top sponsor of this summer's Woodward Dream Cruise
DETROIT (AP) -- Chevrolet has announced it will be the top sponsor of this summer's Woodward Dream Cruise.
The General Motors Co. brand announced last Thursday that it's signed a three-year sponsorship agreement.
The brand says in a statement that the August event will help mark Chevrolet's centennial.
The Dream Cruise has for three years faced lost sponsorships and lawsuits, but an event official said in December the nonprofit had its finances back in order.
Chevrolet's involvement marks the first time since 2009 the event has had a presenting sponsor.
Organizers say last summer's 16th annual cruise, lured 40,000 cars and 1.5 million people. It's promoted as the world's largest one-day automotive event.
