CYBERSPACE SIGHTINGS: 'The Kids Are Listening' website unveiled

A new website, "The Kids Are Listening," www.thekidsarelistening.org, from the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law provides resources and tips for lawyers and judges on how to interact with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning children and teens in foster care.
The resources are intended to help ensure that LGBTQ foster youth are afforded the legal rights and protections they deserve and need. The campaign is a response to increased incidence of bullying; its name stems from youth being affected by everything adults say and do.
The Kids Are Listening is a nationwide campaign and part of the center's Opening Doors Project, created in 2005 to increase the legal community's awareness of LGBTQ youth in foster care and the unique issues they face, and to provide the legal community with advocacy tools to successfully represent these youth.
