Snyder appoints Tom Richardson, Liberty Title CEO, to Electronic Recording Commission
Gov. Rick Snyder recently announced the inaugural appointments to the Electronic Recording Commission.
Created in 2010, the commission establishes standards and practices to keep county registers of deeds in Michigan in harmony with the standards and practices of offices in other jurisdictions.
Diane Adams, Alessandro DiNello, Mary Hollinrake, Linda Landheer, Christian Meyer, Tom Richardson and Bambi Somerlott are appointed.
Richardson, of Ann Arbor, is general counsel and CEO of Liberty Title Agency.
He earned a bachelor's degree with honors in economics from Harvard University and a law degree with honors from the University of Michigan.
He represents individuals engaged in the land title profession and will serve a three-year term expiring Jan. 1, 2014.
''These appointees have tremendous backgrounds and will play important roles in developing innovative ideas to ensure Michigan can become more efficient and adopt best practices in the 21st century,'' Snyder said.
Appointments to the Electronic Recording Commission are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
