MAJ presents ‘Liens’ evening forum on March 10 in Novi
The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) will host an evening forum on “Liens” on Thursday, March 10, beginning with registration at 5:30 p.m. at the Crown Plaza located at 27000 Sheraton Drive in Novi.
Sessions will run from 6 to 9 p.m.
Co-moderators include Jules Olsman, MAJ past president, and MAJ Executive Board members Robert June, Donna MacKenzie, and Troy Haney.

Legal associations present dialogue with civil rights author
The Wolverine Bar Association, the Black Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and the Association of Black Judges of Michigan will present a dialogue with Prof. Danielle L. McGuire on Tuesday, March 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wayne State University Law School’s Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium. McGuire is author of “At the Dark End of the Street: Black Women, Rape and Resistance — A New History of the Civil Rights Movement from Rosa Parks to the Rise of Black Power.” The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

NALS CLE After Hours to present ‘Real Estate Tax Appeals: Primer’
NALS of Detroit will present its CLE After Hours on “Real Estate Tax Appeals: Primer” with guest speaker Jeffrey M. Stefan II of Barris, Sott, Denn, & Driker PLLC on Monday, March 14, at 6 p.m. at the offices of Barris, Sott, Denn, & Driker in Detroit. A short chapter business meeting will follow the speaker’s presentation. The cost to attend is $13 for NALS members and $15 for non-NALS members. ISIAL to host its 15th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Brunch
Clad in their Irish finery with matching shamrock ties and socks, the Irish-American Lawyers, will host their 15th annual St. Patrick’s Day Brunch complete with Irish musical entertainment, Irish folklore, and snappy commentary from co-hosts Assistant United States Attorney Michael Riordan and former State Senator Bruce Patterson.

The event will be held on Sunday, March 13  at Mario’s Restaurant in Detroit, located at 4222 Second Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will end just before the start of the St. Patrick’s Day parade down Michigan Ave. in Corktown.  Shuttles to the parade will be provided for a small fee.
Tickets for the brunch are: $30 for adults; $28 for law student members; and $10 for children under 12 if reserved in advance. Otherwise, tickets can be purchased at the door, but will be $35 for adults.
