Attorney addresses Michigan Association of Collection Agencies conference June 17 
Doreen L. Hoffman, supervising attorney of recovery services at Trott & Trott, P.C., a Farmington Hills-based law firm serving the mortgage banking industry, presented as a featured speaker at the Michigan Association of Collection Agencies (MACA) Annual Conference on June 17.

During the event, Hoffman, who co-presented alongside Charity Olson, founder of the Olson Law Group and president-elect of MACA, shared her expertise regarding client best practices and educated the audience on recent legal updates in the recovery services industry.

Hoffman earned her Juris Doctor from the Detroit College of Law and her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. A published author and frequent speaker, she is currently the State of Michigan’s compliance chair for The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals, a member of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) and a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

Third Circuit Juvenile Division to host Family Reunification Day
The Wayne County Juvenile Court will host the Second Annual Family  Reunification Day on Thursday, June 23 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the 13th floor auditorium of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center at 2 Woodward Avenue.

The annual event is being held in conjunction with National Reunification Day that customarily happens between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day every year.

The celebration will recognize the hard work, dedication and commitment of the  parents, professionals and caregivers who make family reunification possible  after a court intervention and a finding of child abuse or neglect.

Approximately 15 recently reunified families will be honored.  The families’ foster care specialists, caregivers and other community partners will also be recognized.

The event will be held in a festive atmosphere with colorful balloons, happy parents and children, a gift presentation and will feature the appearance and keynote words from International Blues artist Janiva Magness, a Detroit born  talent who was named B.B. King Entertainer of the Year 2009. 

Magness  is also the current spokesperson for National Foster Care Month and  Ambassador of Foster Care Alumni for Foster Care Alumni of America.

Refreshments will follow the ceremony during a special reception.
