SBM leaders discuss the pipeline to power

State Bar of Michigan Executive Director Janet Welch moderated a panel of SBM’s current and former female leadership that discussed “The Pipeline to Power for Women Lawyers in Michigan” on Friday, April 13, at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit. 

Among those speaking on the panel were current SBM President Julie Fershtman of Foster, Swift, Collins, & Smith; former SBM President

(2004-2005) and retired Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Trial Division Chief Nancy Diehl; former SBM President (1986-1987) and current University of Michigan Regent Julia Darlow; and  former SBM president (1996-1997) U.S. District Court Judge Victoria Roberts, Eastern District of Michigan. 

This group presented the closing discussion of Michigan State University College of Law’s “Gender and the Legal Profession’s Pipeline to Power” symposium held April 12-13 in Detroit.
