On Saturday, April 6, a “Walk for Justice” took place at the Detroit Zoo in support of the Salvation Army’s William Booth Legal Aid Clinic (WBLAC). Getting ready to hit the trail to raise funds for the clinic were (l-r) retired Judge Fred Mester, WBLAC founder Ellen Dickman, Wayne County Circuit Court Judges Lita Popke and Maria Oxholm, Doug Kolly, Mary Lynn Roemer, Paula Silverman Weberman, WBLAC Director Amy Roemer, WBLAC founder Robert Dickman, and Richard Halprin. During WBLAC’s existence, it has represented more than 17,000 citizens in Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties. Its mission is to provide quality free legal services to low income families and U.S. military veterans throughout Metro Detroit.
