Law firm Dawda Mann held its 6th annual Automotive Industry Breakfast on Tuesday, April 16, featuring as keynote speaker Mark Reuss, General Motors vice president and president, North America, and as introductory speaker Detroit Mayor Dave Bing.
Reuss discussed the parallel evolution of General Motors and the city of Detroit, and the close relationship between the two. He also provided a summary of today’s GM, and a glimpse of tomorrow’s, along with a snapshot of its near-term vehicle strategy and other news, including initiatives to help the city successfully write the next chapter in its long history.
“The Annual Automotive Industry Breakfast has become a welcome tradition and a staple of SAE World Congress week in Detroit,” Reuss said. “I’m honored that my friends at Dawda Mann asked me to speak at the event, which is always an important forum where useful information is shared and valued connections made.”
Mayor Bing provided introductory remarks at the breakfast, held at the Westin Book Cadillac hotel in Detroit.
“We welcome the SAE World Congress to Detroit,” Bing said. “As a former automotive supplier, I have a special appreciation for the valuable platform offered by Dawda Mann’s annual Automotive Industry Breakfast. Detroit’s rich history was built upon the auto industry, and this gathering underscores the industry’s continued importance to our city’s growth and transformation.”
Dawda Mann, based in Bloomfield Hills, hosts its annual breakfast in conjunction with the SAE World Congress in order to bring together its clients and colleagues in the automotive industry. Dawda Mann’s clientele includes Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, publicly and privately held companies of varied sizes and emerging businesses throughout the United States.
“Our firm welcomes the opportunity to bring together leaders in the automotive industry to share insights and gain new information relevant to their business,” said Edward Dawda, a founding member of Dawda Mann. “We’re grateful to Mark Reuss and Mayor Bing for joining us today to share their perspective on an industry that remains critically important to our city, our state and the country.”
Reuss has been president of General Motors North America since 2009. He is responsible for GM’s performance, manufacturing, portfolio and dealer network in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
