Falkenstein elected to SBM’s Representative Assembly, 3-year term

Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss attorney Peter M. Falkenstein will serve a three-year term in the State Bar of Michigan’s Representative Assembly.
Falkenstein will represent the 22nd Circuit for Washtenaw County in the policy-making body of the State Bar. An active member of the organization, Falkenstein currently serves on the State Bar’s Character and Fitness Committee (District G). In addition to his involvement with the State Bar, he also recently served as President of the Washtenaw County Bar Association; and he is a plenary member of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Professionalism Advisory Committee.
A partner in the firm’s Ann Arbor office,  Falkenstein is a member of the Intellectual Property & Information Technology, Litigation, and Emerging & Growth Business practice groups. His practice focuses on trademark and copyright litigation, licensing and registration, e-commerce, cyber law and general commercial litigation. Prior to joining Jaffe, he served as a full-time faculty member at Hofstra University School of Law where he taught sports law, appellate practice, and litigation skills. Recognized in the legal industry for his leadership and talent,  Falkenstein has received seven consecutive Michigan Super Lawyer Awards for intellectual property law, as well as a DBusiness Top Lawyer award in 2013.
An alumnus of the University of Michigan, Falkenstein continued his education at the University of Michigan Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude with his juris doctorate.


Wayne Law, ADTC plan outings to Comerica

The legal community is invited to meet Wayne Law's rising 2L and 3L students on the Pepsi Picnic Porch at Comerica Park overlooking right field for a picnic-style buffet dinner on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 6-10 p.m. Bleacher and picnic table seating is available throughout the game, when the Detroit Tigers take on the Kansas City Royals. The Association of Defense Trial Counsel (ADTC) will host a baseball outing on Tuesday, Aug. 20, when the Detroit Tigers take on the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park in Detroit. There will be a picnic buffet beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Tiger Club at Comerica Park up until game time. Tickets are for the 7:05 p.m. game in the lower deck, right field box seat in Section 116. Due to the limited ticket availability, it is suggested confirming purchase with the ADTC as soon as possible.
