 Honigman recognized for third year as a top workplace in the state

For the third consecutive year, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP was ranked among the top 10 in the Detroit Free Press 2013 Large Top Workplaces in Michigan and the only law firm listed among the 25 companies named in this category. The list includes many of Michigan’s most prominent and innovative companies, such as Quicken Loans/Quizzle, Title Source, Edward Jones and Plante Moran.

More than 1,100 companies in Michigan were nominated and more than 71,000 employees were surveyed. Rankings were determined solely by employee survey responses, including comments on the individual’s job and opportunities for career development.

Attorney to be named a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy  

 
The American College of Bankruptcy announced Monday that Clark Hill attorney Joel D. Applebaum will be inducted as a Fellow of the College on March 14, 2014 in Washington, D.C.  The ceremony will take place at the Smithsonian Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture, and will be presided over by D.J. (Jan) Baker, chair of the College.
 
There are 33 nominees being honored and recognized for their professional excellence and exceptional contributions to the fields of bankruptcy and insolvency.

Nominees undergo a rigorous nomination process and are extended an invitation to join based on a record of achievement reflecting the highest standards of professionalism.  The College now has 831 Fellows, each selected by a Board of Regents from among recommendations of the Circuit Admissions Council in each federal judicial circuit and specially appointed Committees for Judicial and Foreign Fellows.
 
 Applebaum is a member of Clark Hill’s Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice Group, concentrating his practice in the areas of bankruptcy and corporate reorganization, bankruptcy-related litigation, creditors’ rights and general commercial law.

 Applebaum has a broad range of experience representing debtors, creditors’ committees, customers, trade vendors, purchasers of distressed assets, liquidating agents and trustees, among other parties in interest, in Michigan and in bankruptcy courts throughout the United States.
