Adoption Advocates

The Oakland County Circuit Court Family Division conducted its 2013 Adoption Day Award Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium in Pontiac. The event was held in conjunction with the statewide celebration of Adoption Day. Michigan Supreme Court Justice Bridget Mary McCormack (center) provided remarks and a resolution from the Supreme Court. Also during the ceremony in which several adoptions were finalized, Birmingham attorney Deborah H. McKelvy (second from left) was presented with the “Sandra Silver Advocate for Children Award.” In addition, the “Arthur Eugene Moore Champion of Children Award” was presented to Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Joan Young (second from right). Congratulating the honorees along with McCormack were (l-r) Oakland County Probate Court Judge Elizabeth Pezzetti, presiding judge of the Family Division, and Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Nanci Grant.
