Book signing

It’s not often that a governor asks for an autograph, but Michigan’s top elected official, Rick Snyder, sought a book signing from U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Damon J. Keith, stopping by the federal courthouse in Detroit without any accompanying fanfare. “The governor simply wanted me to sign a copy of my book,” said Keith, whose biography, “Crusader for Justice,” was released last fall. “It was an act of friendship and respect that I appreciated very much.” Earlier this year, developer and philanthropist A. Alfred Taubman announced he would underwrite the costs to place copies of the book in every Detroit public high school, all Detroit public libraries and libraries throughout the state.
