WestlawNext training set at law libary

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library will host five WestlawNext training classes for attorneys this year.

The first class will be held on Wednesday, June 4 from 1-2 p.m. and will focus on criminal research.

Attorneys who wish to know about the premier research materials available to them in their given practice areas or those who wish to learn how to conduct their WestlawNext research more efficiently are encouraged to attend the sessions.

Taught by an instructor from Thomson Reuters West, the curriculum of each session will focus upon the research materials in a specific legal practice area and will also offer attorneys strategies to maximize relevant search results in the database.

All classes are free and are open to any attorney. Attendees can register in advance by telephoning the library at (248) 858-0012.

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Library is located at 1200 N. Telegraph Road in Building 14 East, the five-story glass building attached to the main courthouse building. The library is on the second floor.

All training sessions are set for Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m.

The sessions and topics offered by the library are:

• Sept. 3 — Estate Planning/Probate Research
• Oct. 8 — Advanced WestlawNext™ Searching
• Nov. 5 — Statutory Research
• Dec. 5 — Business Law Research
