5th anniversary of founding of Legal Aid for Children and Families observed at Beaumont
Beaumont Health, Legal Aid and Defender Association, Inc. (LAD) and the Oakland County Bar Foundation (OCBF) observed the fifth anniversary of founding of the Legal Aid for Children and Families (LACF) program at a reception at Beaumont Children's Hospital Oct. 16.
“The assistance you provide families during a very stressful time in their life is irreplaceable,” OCBF President Eric J. Pelton said in a letter to Karen Glorio Luther, the program’s director, informing her of this year’s grant of $15,000, which was matched by the Beaumont Foundation.
“The training you provide Beaumont staff and the OUWB [Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine] extern on identifying medical-legal issues is a benefit that can hopefully be duplicated in other area hospitals,” Pelton said. “Without your service the county would be at a huge loss.”
A feature video on LACF produced by LAD premiered at the reception. It will be available for viewing on LAD’s website at http://www.ladadetroit.org.
Wayne Law announces tuition freeze, changes to scholarship program for all incoming students
Even prior to the tuition freeze and additional scholarship funding, Wayne Law’s tuition was the lowest of any law school in Michigan. Merit- and need-based scholarships are also available to cover tuition expenses, further reducing the cost of attendance.
