FLINT (AP) — A Flint man has been convicted at a third trial in the 2011 strangulation death of the sister of a Genesee County sheriff’s deputy.
The Flint Journal reports a jury found Lorenzo Relerford Jr., 30, guilty of first-degree felony murder in the death of 47-year-old Jeanne Hank, 47, of Grand Blanc. He faces mandatory life in prison without parole.
Jurors convicted Relerford of first-degree felony murder and a judge sentenced him to life in prison without parole.
The state Court of Appeals threw out the conviction, saying his rights were violated when the jury saw his leg shackles.
A second trial ended in a mistrial after jurors couldn’t reach a verdict.
