Mark St. Peter, the CEO and managing director of Madison Heights-based legal technology and support firm Computing Source, has once again pledged $10,000 to support the Access to Justice and community service work of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Foundation.
The pledge is in the form of a Platinum-level sponsorship of the nonprofit's 11th annual Dennis W. Archer Award for Public Service, which will be presented to Chief Judge Gerald Rosen and Judge Stephen Rhodes on Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
St. Peter's support, coupled with donations from General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and leading area law firms, has put the Foundation over its initial $100,000 funding goal more than two months' out from the event. Sponsorship opportunities will remain available through Oct. 23.
"Computing Source deeply appreciates the trust and confidence that our clients place in us, and this is just one way for us to say thank you to the legal community for helping our company grow," St. Peter said of his decision to renew his firm's commitment to the organization.
"The Detroit Bar's foundation does excellent work for metro Detroit - work that reaches far beyond the legal community. From their free monthly legal clinics to their excellent work with foster children, this organization and the people in it are truly inspirational."
"We're thrilled to have earned Mark's continued support for our efforts," said DMBAF Co-Chair Keith Altenburg of Comerica, which is also sponsoring this year's award. "Mark and Computing Source have been with us for years, and I'm eager to see the great work that his gift will make possible in 2016."
"Through his company, Mark has once again demonstrated his deep commitment to our area's legal community and our work to insure that our most vulnerable individuals aren't left behind during Detroit's recovery," added DMBAF Executive Director Lorraine Weber.
Other top Archer Award sponsors to date include Bozman, Dickinson Wright, Miller Canfield, and Conway MacKenzie. New sponsors for 2015 include Robert Half Legal, attorney Geoffrey Finger, The Miller Law Firm, and Jones Day.
Proceeds from the Foundation's Archer Award gala fund the DJAMBI Foundation's Access to Justice and community service work including foster children's charity For The Seventh Generation, which served more than 1,000 foster children, teens, and families in 2014 alone.
