The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law’s International Property Law Clinic in conjunction with the Elijah J. McCoy U.S. Patent and Trademark Office hosted the inaugural International Patent Drafting Competition Feb. 26-27. A kick-off reception took place Friday, Feb. 26, at the Detroit Mercy Law atrium. Among those celebrating the start of the competition were (l-r) Adrian Werkowski, Sanj Shivakumar, and Clinic Director Wissam Aoun. The competition provided student teams the opportunity to present their patent applications in front of a panel of judges comprised of patent examiners and practitioners.
