Attorneys to talk on ruling of ‘Blurred Lines’ copyright infringement
Legal, artists and music industry professionals are invited to a discussion presented by State Bar of Michigan – Arts, Communications, Entertainment & Sports Section and Midwest Chapter of the Copyright Society of America. The controversial lawsuit and subsequent verdict in the copyright infringement case of the song “Blurred Lines” has raised questions within the music and legal industries. It will be topic of discussion by music and copyright experts who will present a review of the judicial ruling and the impact of that ruling on the creation and performance of music. The event is presented by the Midwest Chapter of the Copyright Society of the USA and the Arts, Communications, Entertainment & Sports Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Herman P.C. and program chair. “We will explore this ruling, what it means for artists and creators and how to protect themselves and their works.”
The talk will take place Friday, May 20 from noon to 2 p.m. at University of Detroit Mercy Law School (651 East Jefferson Avenue, Detroit). Parking is available on Larned (across from the law school)
