The Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan joined with the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association to host the new attorney mass swearing in ceremony Nov. 9 at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center. Chief Judge Robert J. Colombo presided over the admission ceremony. DMBA President Donn Fresard extended an invitation to the newly admitted attorneys to join the Detroit bar, one of the three oldest bar associations in the nation.
Lawyers contribute in various ways, helping clients directly and holding public offices of trust. Admission to the bar is the culmination of years of study and the successful passing of a rigorous exam. New lawyers took the oath of the profession during the admission ceremony, which marks the beginning of individuals beginning the practice of law and was celebrated with friends and family as the venerated lawyers and judges welcomed the new lawyers into the profession.
New attorneys are admitted twice per year.
