Law firm launches new website as it celebrates its 20th anniversary

Moss & Colella, P.C., a Southfield, Michigan-based law firm specializing in personal injury and civil rights, is pleased to announce a new firm website. www.mosscolella.com.
The new website was created by Oakland County-based Solutions Pal and includes a detailed list of the firm’s legal services, from traditional personal injury and gross negligence cases, to representative services for individuals and groups impacted by civil rights violations by police and government agencies, as well as the emerging area of personal injury law devoted to cyber bullying and its victims.

The new website launch coincides with the firm’s 20th anniversary. Moss & Colella was established in 1997 by senior partner David M. Moss and A. Vince Colella. Now with five attorneys, all litigators, the firm has secured more than $100m in verdicts and settlements throughout its history on behalf of clients. Key to the success of the firm, according to Colella, is the type of law school graduates they hire.

“We hire very smart law school grads who could have their pick of opportunities at national law firms but are drawn to personal injury cases and fighting for the underdog,” Colella said. “I’m very grateful for their dedication and passion because it has created a high-energy, creative culture at the firm that benefits our clients.”

David Moss says the anniversary is also significant for another reason.

“Reaching the 20-year milestone as a firm is a notable accomplishment because the tenure of many personal injury law firm partnerships is often short-lived,” Moss said. “Vince and I have a solid partnership and we each have distinct areas of expertise not only in the law, but in firm management and administration.”

Moss represents victims and their families in a variety of injury cases against insurance companies, national corporations, hospitals, municipalities and individual defendants.
He has a special focus in railroad law and has litigated hundreds of cases on behalf of injured railroad workers around the country.  Known for his trial and negotiation skills, Moss has argued before the Michigan Supreme Court and several Michigan Court of Appeals panels. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all Michigan State and Federal Courts and is also certified as a Case Evaluator/Mediator. Moss is often selected by other plaintiff’s attorneys to sit as a designated arbitrator on their client’s behalf to resolve complicated cases. He holds a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University.

Colella’s trial experience includes automobile negligence, police brutality and misconduct, premises liability, sexual assault, construction and trucking accidents, insurance disputes, sexual harassment, discrimination and wrongful death. In recent years, Colella has gained a reputation in particular for his litigation efforts in gross negligence and civil rights cases.

Colella has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Michigan Association for Justice (formerly known as the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association) and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is certified as a mediator and regularly hears cases for the Oakland County Circuit Court Mediation Program. He holds a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.
