Teahan named chair of SBM's ÂProbate & Estate Planning Section

On Oct. 13, at Lansing's Crowne Plaza West, Fraser Trebilcock Shareholder Marlaine C. Teahan hosted the Annual Chair's Dinner for the officers, council members, liaisons, and ex-officios of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. The dinner recognizes the outgoing chair, James B. Steward, and welcomes in Teahan as the new chair.
The Probate and Estate Planning Section works to enhance and improve the practice and administration of law pertaining to probate, trust and estate planning and administration, guardianships and conservatorships, and tax planning. As chair of the council, Teahan will lead the Probate & Estate Planning Section, which includes 3,400 attorneys.
Teahan currently chairs Fraser Trebilcock's Trusts and Estates Department and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC). In each of the last four years, Teahan was named to the Top 50 Women Michigan Super Lawyers List, Top 50 Consumer Law Attorneys in Michigan, and the Top 25 Female Consumer Law Attorneys in Michigan. She has achieved an AV peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named in both Best Lawyer and Super Lawyer publications since 2010.
