More than 130 family members and friends of WMU-Cooley students attended the law school’s Lansing campus honors convocation, which recognizes students for their leadership roles with various organizations, achieving academic excellence and being named to the Dean’s List or Honor Roll on Friday, March 9.
Additionally, two students, Victoria Faustin and Benjamin Kibugi were honored for being role models to other students on campus and their dedication to the law school through participation and leadership.
Faustin was presented with the Leadership Achievement Award, Distinguished Student Award, and the Robert E. Krinock Memorial Award.
The Leadership Achievement Award acknowledges those outstanding students who have consistently, comprehensively, and effectively provided leadership in a variety of capacities. The Distinguished Student Award is presented to a student who has led by example and has shown dedication to the student body. The Krinock award is given to a student who has risen above expectations and has proven extreme loyalty to the school, the student bar association, and the student body.
Kibugi was the recipient of the Fitzgerald Student Award, which recognizes a student who has shown a significant commitment toward the improvement of the school’s student organizations.
“Victoria and Benjamin have each shown dedication to the study of law by being examples to others through their studies, involvement with various activities on campus, and dedication to the law school and our students,” said WMU-Cooley Associate Dean Michael C.H. McDaniel.
