New Year’s Resolution: Give Back to the Community, Empower Girls, Promote Healthy Lifestyles
Every day, girls receive limiting messages about how they should act and who they should be. At Girls on the Run, we believe every girl is full of power and potential, and our research-based programs help girls grow their confidence and recognize their strength. But in order to make it happen, we rely on volunteer coaches who give time twice a week after school for the duration of the 10-week program, which culminates in a non-competitive Celebration 5K event. Each of our 150(+) teams requires minimum two coaches, so people must step up to ensure all teams
Coaches need not be runners. All male and female community members who want to help empower 3rd-8th grade girls are welcome to apply. We provide comprehensive training.
The program runs March 11-June 1, 2019, in Muskegon, with the celebration at Heritage Landing on June 1, 2019.
