Stell Reception

The Mid-Michigan chapter of WLAM held its annual Stell Reception on Nov. 29 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, with over 60 lawyers, judges and other members of the legal community attending.

The 2018 Carolyn A. Stell Award, named after retired Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Carolyn A. Stell, was presented to the Hon. Joyce Draganchuk, presiding judge of the General Trial Division and the Business Court Judge for Ingham County Circuit Court. The Award is in recognition of her contributions to the legal community and to the advancement of women in the legal profession. Draganchuk (left) is pictured with her husband, John, and with retired Judge Julia Manderfield.

Shelly-Mae Forrester (left) and Debani Gordonn were recipients of the 2018 Carolyn A. Stell Scholarships, in recognition of academic achievement, community service activities and career objectives. Each scholarship includes a Bar Review Course donated by Themis Bar Review, and $1,500 for miscellaneous expenses associated with taking the Michigan Bar Exam, a total value of more than $3,500. The scholarships were presented by Susie Chalgian and Katherine Bennett.
