Michigan State University Extension is a resource for food safety training. Food Safety Educators will host a live 2-part online webinar focusing on Pantry Food Safety—It’s Your Job.
Part One will cover why food safety in a food bank/pantry is important, hand-washing, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and receiving food product.
Part Two will cover a continuation of receiving food product, storage of food product, re-packaging, and the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Law.
Participants are encouraged to ask their questions during the Q & A portion. Participants who complete both sessions 1 & 2 will receive a pantry food safety training certificate. Organizations that register participants will receive incentives upon submission of evaluation.
