West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC) is partnering with the Montague Farmers’ Market & Artisan Village, 4511 Church St., Montague, to teach residents about stormwater management at a Rain Barrel Workshop. Participants will assemble their own 50-gallon rain barrel that can be connected to their home’s rain gutters. The barrel can capture hundreds of gallons of water a year to use on gardens and lawns.
The same workshop is offered twice: 10 to 11 a.m. and 11 to noon.
Barrels will be set up with adequate spacing between people. Masks and gloves are encouraged, and hand sanitizer will be provided. WMEAC staff will offer tools, participants can bring pliers. The workshop costs $50, and there is a two-barrel limit. Registration and payment are required at https://wmeac.org/event/rain-barrel-workshop-montague-farmers-market-artisan-village/
For more information or for questions, contact Carlos Calderon, WMEAC water programs manager at ccalderon@wmeac.org or (616) 451-3051 x125.
