Section presents ‘Real Estate Outlook 2024’
The Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present its “Real Estate Outlook 2024” on Thursday, November 2, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Detroit Athletic Club, Detroit, 241 Madison Ave. in Detroit
Speaking at the program will be Dr. Eric Scorsone, director of the MSU Extension Center for Local Government Finance and Policy. Chairing the program is Wayne Beyea, Michigan State University, School of Planning, Design and Construction
Roundtable discussions will then take place with experienced attorneys focusing on various topics with participants certain to take away new insights into today’s ever-changing landscape. Registrants can attend two half hour round table sessions.
Discussion topics and leaders include:
• Receiver Sales, with John Polderman, Simon
• Short Term Rentals, with Kayleigh Long, Hirzel Law
• Negotiating Office Sales and Leases, with Todd Szymczak, Farbman
• Marketable Record Title Act, with Catharine LaMont and David Pierson, McClelland Anderson
• Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac & Condos, with Kevin Hirzel, Hirzel Law
• Zoning and Development Approvals, with Richard Rattner, Williams, Williams, Rattner, & Plunkett

Women’s Bar Book Club to meet Nov. 7
The Women’s Bar Association (WBA), Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, will present its next Book Club online Tuesday, November 7, beginning at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
For the November meeting, the club will be discussing “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Society presents film premier of ‘A Light for Justice’
The Historical Society of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan is pleased to present the world film premier of “A Light for Justice” on Wednesday, November 1, at the Detroit Historial Museum, 5401 Woodward Ave. in Detroit.
