Adjunct professor honored by Cooley

The Thomas M. Cooley Law School has recognized Adjunct Professor Charles Patrick Gannaway, an associate attorney with Rapaport Pollok Farrell & Waldron PC in Lansing, with the 2009 Frederick J. Griffith Adjunct Faculty Award. Cooley established the award in 1997 to recognize the contributions of adjunct professors to the school and to honor the late Frederick J. Griffith, an adjunct faculty member at Cooley and a Lansing attorney. The award recognizes a member of the adjunct faculty whose "...service best reflects the character and attributes of Professor Griffith: dedication to the law school, excellence in teaching, passion for persuasive advocacy, compassion for law students, and optimism about life and the future of legal education," said Cooley Professor Norman Otto Stockmeyer, who presented the award. Gannaway teaches the trial skills course in the Practice, Advocacy and Litigation Skills Department at Cooley and specializes in workers' compensation and social security disability law at Rapaport Pollok Farrell & Waldron PC.
