Wayne Law to honor alumnus, faculty member at SBM meeting

Wayne State University Law School will host its yearly Alumni Reception at the State Bar of Michigan Annual Meeting at 4:30-6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids.
This year's reception will honor Wayne Law alumnus and 2010 State Bar of Michigan award recipient Edward Zelenak,'77, who is a recipient of the Frank J. Kelley Award, as well as Wayne Law Professor Katherine White, who will be recognized as the Law School's 2010 recipient of the Donald H. Gordon Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Alumni, faculty and friends are invited to join Wayne Law Dean Robert M. Ackerman at the event, as the reception also will provide an opportunity for attendees to network and reconnect with fellow colleagues.
"I am thrilled to be honoring Mr. Zelenak and Professor White at this year's reception," said Wayne Law Dean Robert M. Ackerman. "I look forward to celebrating in Grand Rapids with Wayne Law alumni and friends."
The Wayne Law State Bar Reception will be immediately followed by a Wayne Law Alumni Association happy hour event at 6-8 p.m. in Gilly's Restaurant (first floor of the B.O.B.).
The Amway Grand is located at 187 Monroe Avenue NW in Grand Rapids, Mich. RSVP for the Wayne Law State Bar Reception by calling Tammy Bynum, Wayne Law Development and Alumni Relations secretary, at (313) 577-3113.
