Peter Alter assumes OCBA presidency

Peter M. Alter, a partner in the Southfield office of Michigan-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., has been installed as the president of the Oakland County Bar Association.
The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) is an organization of approximately 3,000 lawyers and judges in Oakland County that offers professional continuing legal education seminars, camaraderie and networking, and the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the legal and justice systems.
Alter is a member of the firm's litigation practice group, focusing his practice in complex commercial litigation matters, including banking, restructuring, real estate, partnership, insurance, and shareholder and royalty disputes, and various types of alternate dispute resolution.
Alter has been consecutively listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers Magazine since 2007, in addition to recognition in previous years. He was named to the Michigan Super Lawyers Top 100 list in 2009 and 2010 and has been recognized as a top lawyer by dBusiness magazine. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Brandeis University, where he received the Endowed Prize in Politics, and earned his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.
